TOKIO, JAPÓN (08/DIC/2011).- Habituado a ostentar los récords de longevidad humana, Japón anunció esta semana el fallecimiento de otro tipo de decano: el perro más viejo del mundo falleció a los 26 años y nueve meses.

El perro ''Pusuke'', de raza indefinida, murió el lunes pasado por la tarde. Su edad correspondería al equivalente de 120 años para un ser humano, informaron este jueves los diarios nipones.

Repentinamente, el animal se negó a alimentarse y mostró dificultades para respirar, contó su dueña Yumiko Shinohara, que cuidó de Pusuke hasta el final.

"Estaba a mi lado desde hace 26 años, era como un hijo", explicó Shinohara, que tiene 42 años. "Le estoy agradecida de haber vivido tanto tiempo", agregó.

Su can había ingresado el año pasado al libro Guinness de los récords como el perro más viejo del mundo.

TOKYO, JAPAN (08/DIC/2011) .- Used to hold the records of human longevity, Japan announced this week the death of another type of Dean: the world's oldest dog died at 26 years and nine months.

''The dog''Pusuk, race undefined, died last Monday afternoon. His age would correspond to the equivalent of 120 years for a human being, newspapers reported Thursday Nipponese.

Suddenly, the animal refused to eat and showed difficulty breathing, Yumiko Shinohara told his mistress, who cared for Pusuk to the end.

"I was at my side for 26 years, was like a son," said Shinohara, who is 42 years. "I'm grateful to have lived so long," he said.

His dog had last year entered the Guinness Book of Records as the world's oldest dog.
